My name is Jason McConnell and I contracted a bad case of poison ivy in South Jersey recently. The day that I noticed the swelling and slight itching I began to try to stop it by using anything in the house that I thought would dry it up. I used antipersperant, oatmeal, baking soda, palmolive, salt, witch hazel, rubbing alcohol, Ivarest, calamine lotion, and probably other substances as well. After 4 days the itching hadnt been real bad (I think because of all of the things I was using to combat it), but it had spread to all over my arms, and it covered a little bit of my face, torso, genitals, and legs. I have had it worse before but this time the oozing was the main problem becasue it just wouldnt stop. I had to wrap my arm in cut up pieces of t-shirt so as to not get the ooze all over everything. I got steroids after the 5th day which seemed to work by slowing the oozing quite a bit but the bumpy swelling didnt really go down much. On the 6th day I received the Zanfel and began using it. At first I really scrubbed the infected areas twice in a row. I noticed within 30 minutes the little bit of itching I had was gone, the oozing was slowing, and some of the swelling had gone down. For the next 9 hours I occasionally went back and hit the really bad areas again even though about 80% of the swelling was gone. 24 hrs later I had no more itching, oozing, or swelling and the leathery areas on my arms were already healing. All that was left was red patches of healing skin and a couple of tiny bumps that popped up here and there. I used about 80% of the Zanfel but it was well worth it because it really really works.
